Spaghetti Straps: It’s What’s For Dinner

'Tis the Season for Tanks and Camis

Who's hungry for spaghetti straps?!?

Let's see those elbows!!! We are fast approaching tank-and-cami weather, and I guess it's time to let those shoulders and clavicles breathe. For a long time, I didn't swoon over the tank top as a staple, but I have come to love it for the following use cases:

— wearing with bike shorts of the same color under sheer dresses

— layering under a blazer that I sometimes wear around my house just for kicks

— wearing under an unbuttoned button-down shirt when I'm trying to look (and therefore feel) laid-back

— or as the base layer beneath an unbuttoned pajama shirt, "because yolo"

(This ribbed tank top by Filippa K is my personal favorite.)

My esteemed colleague Elizabeth Tamkin tells me that I'd do well to remember that a tank top is the ultimate framing device if you're trying to show off a necklace. Eliz is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, Team Tank Top, and kindly reports on her own favorites below.

This is hands down my favorite tank top on earth. It's soft and ribbed and stretchy. Also comes in plenty of colors!

I also love the Hanes pack of 5 men's tanks for $22.98. Perfect for hanging out and also working out.

This tie dye one for $24 is all-caps FUN.

I can't look away from this one. The tiger stripes! The smocking! The faint ruffle of the straps!

Did I hear you whisper, "Where's the crochet detailing?" It's here, c/o LoveShackFancy.
