Giddy up, ponte The longer I'm alive, the more I hear about ponte pants. Mostly on product pages care of the internet. I'd say Brass Clothing first familiarized me with the concept, and then I started to see a parade of ponte pants pop up everywhere. What exactly is a ponte pant, anyway? The name is tied to its Italian origins and is technically a descriptor of the blended double knit fabric, rather than the silhouette. The ponte pant is something between a legging and a trouser, but not quite a jegging. The general consensus seems to be that you can wear them to work. I understand that the phrase "wear them to work" sounds pretty aspirational right now, but if dressing the part helps you feel the part, look no further than Elizabeth's pontifications on the ponte pant, below. —Edith |
